Transforming Healthy Aging in Alberta

Problem Statement

As Canada’s population ages, greater attention, care and resources will be required to provide care to older adults. Join the conversation to help us explore and answer the following questions: 1. What are the top priority challenges in the aging sector; and 2. How can technology address some of the challenges.

Business Case

The Innovation and Business Intelligence (IBI) department at AHS is working in collaboration with envisAGE to identify and engage with key stakeholders within the aging sector to identify and explore priority challenges. In addition, we are gathering information on existing and potential technological solutions that help to facilitate healthy aging in Alberta. The IBI Assessment Team is seeking to speak with Older Adults (65+), Caregivers, and Service Providers to hear their lived experiences and expertise on the challenges and technologies they see or face. The feedback we gather from the community will directly impact the technologies we chose to test in Alberta over the next 5 years.

Goals

1. Understand priority challenges facing older adults and caregivers. 2. Understand technological solutions available to address priority challenges. 3. Understand the barriers that exist to adopting technological solutions.
